Tuition in Website Design

Practical website design tuition provides students with a solid foundation in major aspects of website design. Tuition is on an individual basis with the pace of instruction determined by the student.

All material is used frequently by web designers - the course objective is to get students functional whilst understanding website design fundamentals.

The Course Structure

Surfers value speed and topical, relevant content. Emphasis is thus placed on slippery graphics, slim coding and unambiguous content.

Coding is moving away from HTML towards Cascading Style Sheets and the separation of structure and presentation. Style sheets offer speed, easy website maintenance and good search engine visbility. Therefore, students are taught to construct web pages wherever possible using only style sheets.

We do not use WYSIWYG editors with bloated code, simple hand coding keeps the page fast and is easily edited.

Tuition is carefully structured so that there is a linear learning curve. Classes are held on a half day basis, homework is set and assessed. Students are expected to show critical thought and be innovative as they will design their own website on which they will be assessed.
