Each year, Durban plays host to the most popular ultra marathon in the world - the Comrades Marathon. More than 13,000 local and international runners take part in the race between Pietermaritzburg and Durban. The direction of the race is reversed each year so that there are 'up' years and 'down' years. The race normally takes place on June 16th. |
